-- I was at college, studying the Arts, and doing a bunch of stuff related to the arts, theater, photography, cinema, and International music concerts.
...Working as a projectionist, and as a light & sound technical assistant for world artists in a 'serious' concert theater hall.

At home I had a turntable, and Pink Floyd DSOTM's album came right in.

Funny, I decided to add on the AEMI 82136 Kevin Gray AcousTech 30th Ann release today to my order. Will they do a 40th Anniversary & will it be an even better pressing? Some have questioned the quality of the vinyl substrate of the 2003 release.

Terry.......After 40 years of Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd remasters, Pink Floyd SACD's, Pink Floyd original masters, Pink Floyd 180 gram vinyl, and on and on, I have all the Pink Floyd I can stand. I have no interest in their music anymore, not even as demo tracks. There's so much more to listen to.

Dan... True. Floyd probably gets one play or two a year for me. However, for us that are catching up, the golden age of music was then....It is not now.

Although I must say, some do shine through & I really loved seeing Norah Jones live in concert last month. I think she's a talented spunk & I look forward to splitting open her vinyl box soon.

I had been out of the Navy for one month, and living on the ocean in Virginia Beach. Houses were dirt cheap in the winter. All I remember is constantly playing that album for years, and smoking a lot of preventative medicine. I prefer classical style string quartets now, but did buy the Wish You Were Here SACD when it came out. It still gets the occasional play, and the preventative medicine is still keeping me healthy.

I have the SACD and LP version, neither of which get played. I think I tired of the album rather quickly but still purchased these "special edition" copies for some reason. They won't get my money for this version, I would rather spend it on new artists. I am tired of all these releases of old music that I lived through from the 60's & 70's.

I can still hear it now from my mother to turn down that heartbeat music.
