I still feel that my MCD500 is the best playback component that I've got right now. I really missed playing records so it was only a matter of time before another LP12 would be added.
It feels good to play records again!

Yep, there is much to say about convenience. Some love vinyl, some don't because it is just more convenient to listen to CDs and especially music servers/streaming. I got used to the remote controls on the C500P and the Ayre KX-R preamps and once I put the Lamm preamp without remote control back into the system, right away I realized just how many times I have to get up off the couch just to adjust the levels for every other recording... I could use the exercise though.

There is something really cool about the "old school" tables.

I also have a friend who may want to part with his 1200 album collection at the right price since he is not into audio lately due to some marital problems.

I've heard what some really good TT's can sound like and to my ears, that's really the way to listen to music when in the critical listening mode. I have a feeling the CDs will become more of a background listening material for me. We'll see how it turns out.
Trust me, once you get your new SG TT CD's will become background music-for a while at least. It's a good thing to have a decent vinyl playback deck. I know that you'll have fun with yours. I look forward to your pixxx and reviews of the new SG.

I could use the exercise too, just not sure if I want to get via my hobby. In all truthfulness, it would be a much easier decision if I had room for a HT and a 2 channel room.

Since the thread started out as "German Turntables", I'd like to add another maker that seems to be very popular, the "Transrotor". They make TTs from mild to wild. Their "Fat Bob" series is very popular.

Some pics of the reasonably priced Acoustic Signature "Mambo". Oil free bearing design with a 10 year warranty. Notice the brass dampers in the aluminum platter that soak up any vibrations.
