I think it plays the 24/192 files as it was just updated to current firmware/software. I don't have a server so there's no way to test.

What is the 813 that you were discussing?
Jim.......I apologize for my error. I corrected my post to show the Meridian 818. Meridian is calling it the 818 Audio Core. According to Jerry, the 818 is Meridians newest digital player, essentially the 808.3 without a transport, but with an additional digital board inside. It seems that Meridian is moving away from physical medium. Perhaps Jerry will see this thread and chime in with some additional information for us. I am not abreast of the Meridian line like he is. Here is a link to the 818 Reference Audio Core - Meridian

Hey Jim, Sorry about the mix-up tonight when you called... I was out to dinner with my family. I'm glad you are enjoying the 808V3. I understand the 818 sounds even better than the 808V3 as a digital player. Bob Stuart stated a couple years ago that the 808V3 would be his last physical media player. It seems like that's what is happening.

On the Momentum's you were very influential in my decsission as well as the demo's I had at Paragon. I can't wait to get them! I am also looking forward to the Alexia's.

Chuck...just curious, do the folks at Paragon carry ARC? When you auditioned the Momentums, were you able to hear the Ref 40 or at least a Ref 5SE to see how the ARC pre and D'Agostino amps will mesh? Just curious. Thx

Jim, you didn't say whether moving the seating position forward improved your soundstage. I'm guessing it did but...

Hi Cyril; I did get to audition the Momentums with the new REF10 prior to the session. It was very good, I didn't get to A/B against the D'Agostino preamp. I felt the night of the session at Paragon where I heard Dan's Amps and Pre together was the best I've heard from the Alexia. So when things settle down with my system, Larry from Paragon will bring Dan's new amp to see if that holds up in my home.

Chuck

Doug

Yes, with the seating position moved forward I am seem to be getting a wider soundstage. After I return Chuck's Meridian unit this afternoon and insert my MCD-1100 into the loop I will get a better feel. One concern, I may have lost some depth when I gained the width.
