Default Qnap?

Anybody setup a QNAP Sooloos server yet?
A 4 bay QNAP in Raid 5 seems like the way to go. (TS-470PRO)
The only issue I have is I've been away from Windows for so long I'm not sure how easy/hard it will be to configure. (I do have W7 on Parallels). The Meridian instructions aren't very convincing........

I was also wondering if anyone had added this yet. I am in no need for additional space yet so I was waiting for someone else to be the guinea pig. I haven't had access to a Windows PC for sometime so i might be out of luck.

If you can setup parallells then a QNAP is cake.
The sooloos app is not much if anything to configure. Probably just which volume it should use.

Will show up as non-sooloos storage and behave like any other sooloos storage.

If you use DHCP just set your router to give the qnap the same ip everytime, makes things more consistent.

I set up a QNAP to allow its use as a Sooloos server about six weeks ago, and I used Windows 8.1 running in Parallels on my Mac Pro. There are several good threads on the Meridianuplugged forum that were helpful for me when trying to "translate" Meridian's instructions for Windows XP into how to make settings in a Windows 8.1 environment.

Before I started, I made sure I had an up-to-date backup of my Sooloos library that was on my Twinstore, and then I just restored that backup to the QNAP. I am now using the Twinstore with an MC200 at my offsite garage.

Why are you using parallells to set up QNAP?
There is a QNAP Finder for Mac, isn't there?

Sorry John, didn't mean it like that.

I'm actually right now transitioning to OSX from my work PC. It's both fun and scary.

But I have set up several QNAP and Synology NASes. Just getting the basics down like replication between mine (Synology) and parents (QNAP) for pictures, laptops and sooloos backups was nice.

Meridian released the Sooloos package after I decided to use Synology but my slow ripping process haven't got me anywhere near the 1TB SSD of my MC200.

But when the time comes I've no qualms using QNAP as store for Sooloos and replicating to my parents QNAP
