from what I have read on other forums, it beats the Ref 3 on some dimensions and is essentially a mini Ref 5.

Cyril,
Thanks for posting. Mr. Davis has done a very nice job describing the sound qualities of the LS27. The musicality, transparency, soundstage and image focus are excellent - reasons why I bought this unit. I did not get a chance to compare the 27 with a 26 so I can not comment on bass improvements. But, so far, I'm very pleased with the nice bottom end. I'm approaching 50 hrs of use on the LS27 and the DS450. So far, extremely pleased. Mike |

Cyril - Yes. The 450 is a very nice match for the Revel Salon2's. I believe Aerosmith had that combo as well.
Thanks, Mike |

Sounds like a great preamp for the money. I've auditioned the Ref5 at my house and was very impressed. I would seriously consider the LS27.
