As a first shot I'd try some simple treble boost with your AVM 60. It's free, and it may get you close.
I really like Schiit products. The Loki looks to be a very well designed equalizer for a fair price. With 4 bands of EQ you should be able to shape the response curve to your liking. Schiit also makes some great headphone amps. Tom

Just an update.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and direction. I purchased a Schiit Magni headphone amp and a Loki tone control unit. THE MUSIC HAS COME BACK TO LIFE for me. It's enjoyable and even trilling to listen to music again. It has gone a long way in overcoming my hearing deficiencies in the upper ranges. Thank you all so very very much! So far I haven't spent much time fine tuning the Loki. I played with it a little at first, but ended up turning up all the frequencies pretty far. It's just so much fun hearing voices with clarity and music with high fidelity again that I haven't been motivated yet to fine tune the sound. What a joy! |
