Default Passing time with my Parasound JC5

About 8 years ago I got my first taste of high end sound when I received
my Parasound A21...The ease of 3 dimensional with a wonderful sense
of scale and finesse with great punch...

Having read about Class A amps vs Class A/B my interest in Parasound
Halo amps grew...the A21 in particular. The A21 offers the first 8 watts
as Class A then on up to 250 watts Class A/B....the transition imperceptible.

So with the passing of time come to find out that John Curl answered the
call to distill 2 JC1s onto 1 chassis....and thus the JC5 was birthed...

Offering the first 12 watts Class A then on to 400 watts Class A/B...
The upgraded input signal power supply with Nichicon Gold Tune (made
to order for Parasound as these were discontinued).

So traded my 5 year old A21 in for JC5 and received great trade value,
pleasantly surprised.

So much to say....about my JC5...
The essence is that it takes where my former A21 left off....and soars..

While I admire Pass Labs gear...it is out of reach for me ...and having
auditioned Thresholds driving Martin Logan CLX back in the 90's the
sound signature never left...

The sound quality afforded me by my current system never fails to
amaze me...

Some may ask if I power my JC5 via my PS Audio P15 Power Plant...
the answer is yes...I have tried direct to wall....much better via P15.
So powered by P15 as with all my gear.

So for any readers out there ..Yes I can whole heartily recommend
the Parasound JC5...it is certain to please.

Happy listening everyone!!

Great review from Audio Bacon on the JC5

https://audiobacon.net/2018/08/24/pa...-watt-beast/2/

My time with my JC5 is in strong agreement with the reviewer in this review....

Happy listening

Hey Christian..

Actually more than a beast it is delicately nuanced displaying quite
a beautiful sound stage in all 3 axis ...powerful and dynamic.

It has been said that power amps this size do not play well at low sound levels.
Not so with my JC5 is amazing even at very low levels of sound ...truly amazing...

Highly worth acquiring..

Happy listening,
David

I was the first non-industry person to get a JC5, out of the first batch. The rest went to reviewers. It is the only component I haven't replaced since if that tells you anything.

Love my jc5
Only thing I can’t understand is why the right side of the amp looking from the font feels hotter than the left
