My experience is every Aurender unit sounds different.

“Better” is very subjective.

Almost universally people say the n10 is “better”.

I found that I prefer the sound of the “lesser” n100.

Listen to a few and trust your ears.

Famester,

Each of the steps up the product line is a substantial improvement worthy of the cost. My W20SE performs at the same level as my turntable. I struggled for years being disappointed with the sound quality of my digital end. Finally after decades of wishing I could make the difference go away. It is gone.

Best bang for the buck is a highly personal question. Personally I think the $22K was a screaming deal… not because I don’t think it is a lot of money, it is, I am retired… but it brings me incredible depth, sound staging, low noise floor, rhythm and pace, and detail on hundreds of thousands of albums through Qobuz. It gives the music the same magic I get from my turntable. It completely changes the game.

So, it is like buying a turntable. If you want incredibly involving music… then you need to invest in the front end. The higher up the Aurender product lines the better they get.

I had my last Aurender (S10) for nearly 10 years. I expect my current model (N30SA) to stay withy me for a long time.

I could not say it better.
