That's a deeply saddening punch to the gut. I'm so sorry to hear the news. Dan's voice here will be sorely missed.

Oh no. I am deeply saddened by this news. Dan was one of the most helpful and friendly people I've ever met in my audio journey. Even though I never managed to get to his home to listen to his system, despite repeated invitations, I feel as if I had known him personally for years. Dan has no replacement. He will be missed terribly. Rest in peace my friend.

Very sad to hear. I had actually missed his posts in the past few weeks and was wondering if he was traveling or otherwise busy. Did not occur to me that he was sick. We just take too many things for granted!
I know that his wife passed away not too long ago and that he had a hard time adjusting to that. I am hoping that they are now together. Very Sad. RIP Dan.

I never met Dan in person, but he felt like a close friend through all our communications over the years. Beside being super helpful, Dan was a great author of comprehensive equipment reviews. He will be sorely missed. RIP friend.

This is indeed very sad news. I only knew Dan through AA, but it was clear to me that, besides his seemingly infinite knowledge of all things audio, he was the consummate gentleman: always willing to help and advise, thoughtful and considerate, and even-handed and temperate as a moderator. My condolences to his family, and to Ivan, Pete, Rich and his many friends here on AA.

Wow. This is just awful news. Dan was one of the best writers on this site and had that special way to make you feel and hear what he felt during his demos.

His kind and compassionate nature was beyond reproach....

Always a gentleman; always polite; sad sad day.

This is a tragedy. I’m so sorry to hear this news. We all have a piece of Dan’s advice, his thoughtful reviews, and kind sentiment in our systems.

Rest In Peace Dan. My heartfelt condolences to his family that he left behind.
