Josh.......The good thing is once you are past the sting of the initial purchase you will always own reliable test equipment you can trust. My Maxi-Matcher tube testers sit on a shelf in the studio control room. They're useless until I need them, then they mean everything. .

No more bulk deals...... I ask them the same question. They have more demand than inventory.

Wondering if anyone knows someone that provides reasonable preamp tube testing/rating? Preferably near Iowa/Illinois

That one cannot test 6SN7, 6H30 or the 6DJ8/6922/7308 family of tubes. If those are of interest.

Default Tube Tester

Not a good idea testing an 00 or 00A on Hickok tube tester. B voltage is high and will cause the gas to ionize while under test. Tube will fail on this tester.

I have picked up usable 00 & 00A tubes from dud boxes because of this testing,

These tubes will read on emission testers but dont keep them under test very long.. Causing gas to ionize will damage tubes over time.
