On the video it looks like the MC901 is twice the size of the 3500. I finally saw a MC901 at a dealer and I've never seen an amp that size before. It's huge

JBT, Yes, the compactness combined with the power of the amp attracted me. It's beautiful. I feel very fortunate to be able to acquire a pair. Thanks everybody for the video.

Best

I can't believe that this amp was not bolted to a wood platform like most other McIntosh heavy units. It looked well padded though.

It’s packed the same way my MC352 and MC452 were. A foam cocoon.

Charles the 3500 isn't a small amp. The 901 is just huge. I bet the 3500 is going to be a superb sounding amp! Factor is they're great looking and I suspect it'll be a huge seller. When it was first announced a Platinum Mcintosh dealer told me they had sold 5 pairs right when Mcintosh started taking orders. Enjoy!

The MC1502, which is no slouch in its own right, is packed the same way. My MA8000 was bolted to a wooden plank like most Mc's a few years ago so I suspect this is the new packaging design for Mc's big amps.

JBT, I agree, the 901 is like two amps per channel combined, and monster amps at that. I believe we are living in a "Golden Age" for McIntosh. I am happy I'm a part of it. My next upgrade will be a new digital pre replacement for the D1100, when it arrives. I don't plan to switch from McIntosh to any other brand. I am very happy with my sound.

Best

Charles

My system is McIntosh through and through except for cables. I am very happy with the sound. I feel like their components are designed to perform well with one another. Just my opinion.

I saw and heard the MC3500 today. The were very impressive. They look a lot nicer in person.
