Actually their sound characteristic is very similar. Pass definitely designed the 100's to sound like tubes because they do!! The Pass obviously does everything a little better (including looks) but the M180's sound wonderful none the less

Wow, Jeff - the new turntable looks absolutely fantastic. And I'm sure you've got it dialed in nicely after spending 5 hours working on it - good for you!!!

I must say, that rack for $600 is one of the best deals I've seen in audio in a VERY long time. I wish you were my neighbor - I'd buy a couple cases of beer and we'd figure out how to replicate one

Thanks for posting pics of the new rig - you've gotta be in analog heaven right about now!

Yeah the rack took about 2 weeks for me to find the needed components. I think I called about 10 different places, getting references from each until I found the rods. Then a few to figure out the best spike options, apparently brass doesn't weld. I wish I could figure out the number to the place I ordered the wood from, they also build cutting board countertops and tables. They sold me 4- 26x20x3 shelves for $380 total w/free shipping. That was with them beveling the edges and cutting the 1.25 inch holes in the corners on a CNC. Totals the rack weight about 200lbs with no equipment on it lol

I have to admit that I guess I did take a couple break to hold the 5 month old and to play with our 2 year old. "Daddy" can only stare at the stereo for so long at a time before children want to play . I made sure to repeat to myself "it's all good, stay calm" while I fiddled with the cart. I probably watched the New Day Record guy do the VPI Prime setup video about 10 times before I attemted it . It is sounded pretty great at this point!

$380 total w/ free shipping for the 4 shelves with beveled edges and 1.25" holes CNC'd!? FIND THAT EMAIL ADDRESS That is ridiculous! I'll just press the reorder button now!

Oh, fun! Good for you - sounds like you had fun with the little ones in-between setup. Hopefully they helped keep you calm! I'm really happy for you, Jeff - you've got an inspiring setup!

Sounding Great!! I have never been so happy with vinyl. Everything analog I have going is of a higher price than anything I have owned before though so I am sure it's a compilation of all parts
