Thanks for the detailed explanation.
now the differences in structure become clearer for someone without a technical background. Just checked my LP2030 has a 0.75mA slow fuse installed |

That fuse will be fine.

Getting closer
The Inspire 3.1 speaker system is getting closer to reality. Here's the 2nd prototype proofing the veneering process.

Now that the veneer is sealed, it looks very nice.
The shade looks much higher quality on the last photo. The "inspire" lettering comes into the lower left and right corner? What is the target selling price? |

The logo will go in-between the two bass drivers. Last I talked to Dennis, he was looking at a price of around $3,000 USD. I believe he intends to include the stands as well and ship these world wide

Picked up the chassis this morning.
The powder coaters have nicknamed the color "Root Beer". I'm starting on the PH-1 today, should have some pics tonight. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

The Black PH-1 is finished.
It's tested, buttoned up, and playing up at the shop now. Taking pictures is easy, making time to post not so much. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

Rb84
Introducing the latest addition to the Inspire family, the RB84, (Root Beer 84).
[IMG][/IMG] I feel a little back story is needed. When I decided to build my monoblocs and matching preamp I picked out a color that went with my stereo stand, when the powder coater saw it he said it looked like Root Beer so that's what we decided to call it. [IMG][/IMG] When I showed Dennis the color swatch and told him we were calling it Root Beer this got him to talking about the good old days when he would listen to Magnavox consoles while playing Monopoly and drinking Root Beer floats with his buddies, next thing I know he's bought another old "Maggie" console amp off eBay and fixed it up. [IMG][/IMG] And he loves it so much that he asks me to layout a chassis so we can build our own version again. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Well that's kind of how things work around here, we're "Inspired" by the strangest things. But however these ideas are realized the recipe as always is to use his decades of musical experiences (and a big bag of tricks) to reach an even higher level of fidelity for you guys. And of course, to have lots of fun too! Oh and while I've got you here, I'll let you in on another secret. I'm cutting some chassis for another new amp tomorrow. The 2024 Inspire lineup is gonna have something for everybody. |

Using an EL84 as the input tube, as well? Running as a SET is what, 4wpc?
My favorite Cary amp was Dennis' Rocket 88 with a 6922 as phase inverter and EL84 as the current source tube for each channel. Terrific SQ.
