Question Omega Planet Ocean 45.5mm 2208.50

My trusty Omega Seamaster broke last week. It's only a pin, but got me thinking. I've had this watch for 13 years, and yes she's been good to me, I'm now pondering an upgrade.

I know there's a lot of WA's (watch aficionados) on AA. Where do you guys go for the best deal on your watches? I'm leery of eBay. Not sure if I'm getting an authentic watch or a very expensive replica.

I'm leaning towards the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 2208.50. Any suggestions? Hey Ivan, do you happen to be an Omega dealer? I like Tags too.

Jeff.......Put a new pin in the Omega, and buy a new watch, too. I have had this Tag Aquaracer for two years, and love it. The Tag is not so expensive you're afraid to wear it, tough enough for everyday, and looks good even when you get dressed up. I sure like mine.

Dan, that would be the wisest choice. Even just fixing the pin in the old Seamaster and moving on. However, I've never been known to make the wisest choice. Especially in the eyes of the Mrs. Or aka, "we need new windows." C'mon! Windows are just no fun. And I'm all about the fun.

Default Decisions...Tag Or Omega?

Thanks for the link Serge. I found two Tags I really like on their site.

The Aquaracer Automatic. waf2111.ba0806.

And the Link Automatic. wj201b.ba0591. (I like this one a lot)

I really like the look of the Omega. My last Omega lasted me 13 years with no problem. Until a pin broke. But on the downside, the Tags are a much better value. Hmmm... What to do?

Jeff.......I almost purchased the Tag Link. I really like the looks, and the polished bezel, but the Aquaracer chrono won out. The Tag Link Auto is very attractive.

I promised myself never to buy another Omega again. My Seamaster(s) caused me nothing but trouble, they leaked, broke, clasp came loose several times, knobs fell off. The service manager was very apologetic.

If you like chronographs I am very happy with my stainless steel AP Royal Oak Offshore

Well, I ordered the Tag Heuer Link Automatic this morning. The kids don't need any Christmas gifts this year. I'll just give them an empty McIntosh box, draw wheels on it and say use your imagination.

Agree, pin it. When is the last time you had it totally cleaned and serviced, you might want to have that done too.

Jeff.......Great choice. The Tag Heuer will provide you with many years of great service, and look good doing. Has it arrived yet?
