Jeff can be unhinged and over the top from time to time.

Mcintosh has been selling these things for years. It's not new

IMO this offering is an embarrassment for the industry. I can only imagine trying to explain it to someone thinking about getting into this hobby.

That was entertaining and I have to agree, like I said they're putting a light on a chassis they already have in mass quantities. But who am I to tell someone otherwise if they like it, it's just not for me.

Its like going to a concert. Pay 400 dollars for a ticket 10th row right in the center on the floor. Then buy a t-shirt for 50 bucks that's probably made in China and cost 50 cents to make. And they sell them like hotcakes. People waiting in line to buy them. Old money new money. It cheapens the bands legacy for selling this made in China junk. Good gravy. I've heard it all.

It's a way to get all those little ugly dust-collecting boxes organized. It would be nice to have the cable box, HDMI switcher/BOB, Roku concealed, especially if their remotes would still work behind the Mac glass. What I don't see from the photos is how to get cables in and out of the box, but there must be a way.

As it stands, this isn't a product for me. But I sure don't see it as an embarrassment.

At least the amp stands had some utility. I cancelled my order and will be issued a refund. After 5 months of waiting all my interest evaporated. I think the same will be true here. You pay 1,500 and then the wait begins. I think Mac needs to concentrate on getting core product out to customers. I would never wait 6-7 months or longer for this.

Best

Charles

For me, the clock is cool. It has functionality and shows the McIntosh logo and colors well.

I reacted to the light box because their marketing. …put your less desirable equipment inside…. That is arrogant.

I really like the concept but McIntosh would need to drop a "0" off the price and cut their profits from 3000% to 300% for me to buy one.
