While availability and discounts are not what they were a few years ago, re-sale and trade values certainly help close that gap.

Aside from power requirements, sonic differences between Mc power amps can be subtle. In direct comparisons, my ears preferred the 275 over the MC 352/452 and 312. An exception to my ears has been the MC 75 mono blocks much preferred over the 275 and the 2301's. While not directly comparing to the 75's, the 1.25's were quite mind blowing and from the comments of Charles, the 3500's go beyond that. In a first audition, the bass of the 3500's was outstanding and while it's been a few years since listening to the 1.25's the wow factor of the 3500's was an overall more.

Hopefully when the 75's are ready a comparison with the 3500's will be a possibility. Can't see swamping for any amp without this.

While the cost of such an upgrade is paramount, the logistics of such large amps to the living room decor will also be a major factor (cardboard mock-ups are providing a great visual).

Enjoy the Sounds!

John

Sounds like you're well on your way John. I just hope the 75's get back to you with a clean bill of health.
