Does Sony plan to fill the equipment chain from source to speakers? I would be interesting in seeing some new US Market ES Pre-amps, Amps, and bigger speakers.

Bill.......This would only interest me if ES truly stood for Elevated Series and not some marketing ploy to hang the moniker ES on everything that comes down the pike like Sony did in years past. There was a time not all that long ago that ES was completely meaningless, just a sales gimmick. If Sony truly wants to run with the big dogs and be embraced by high-end buyers, their offerings need to be exceptional in every respect and no undermining the ES badge with run of the mill big box crap. You cannot cater to the top and the bottom with the same spiel.

I'll bet this Pass Labs system sounded excellent.
In another room (470-472) I talked to the rep in the Sony. He indicated that the HAP-Z1ES should be shipping no later than the middle of next month. I am considering it just for its DSD capabilities. A one box simple solution. I don't want to spend too much for a format with a limited number of albums to choose from.
