Default Orangutans are in my haus

Just wanted to share that my brand new Devore Fidelity Orangutans arrived last night. Needless to say, I spent the better part of the night unpacking and configuring. Unfortunately for me, I blew a cap in my amp after about 4 hours of listening - don't ask why.... So I will need to plan to update this thread later this month.

But for now I will simply say, "Wow!"

As a side note, my good friend sympathized with me over my cap tragedy and came over tonight with his shindo equipment and we ran it through its paces with the speakers. I'll add this to my prior comment, "Incredible!"

Incidentally, my amp was made by Sophia Electric, and they've been great thus far to deal with on this issue!

J

1. Congrats...
2. More about the speakers.
3. Photos.
4. More about the shindo - what was the set up and how did it sound.

Sorry about the amp. Can't wait to hear more when you get things sorted out.

So those Orangutans decided to monkey around with your amp?

Congrats! Waiting to see some pics and your impressions.

Cucumber, here's the break down on my set-up:
Speakers - O/96's
Speaker Cables - Auditorium A23
Amps - 300 B mono blocks by Sophia Electric
Pre-Amp - Leben RS100u
Phono Stage - Leben RS-30EQ
SUT - Auditorium A23
TT - Rega P9
Cart - Koetsu Urishi Vermillion
On the Shindo "guest" set-up
Speakers - O/96's
Speaker Cables - Auditorium A23
Amps - Shindo Cortese
Pre-Amp - Shindo Masseto
Phono Stage - N/A - Shindo Masseto
SUT - Auditorium A23
TT - Rega P9
Cart - Koetsu Urishi Vermillion
As for pics, they will follow later this month. For the pics - I just need to figure out how to post the photos... For the sound - I'm in disbelief - it's incredible! The Shindo sounded great! And, candidly, we were mixed and confused on whether we preferred the Shindo on the MC or the Shindo MM + the A23 SUT with the Koetsu. They were VERY different. We're going to do a few more sessions, and I'll update as we do.

But I can say that after plugging in the Orangutans, I experienced the most moving musical experience I've ever had - both in the Leben-Sophia arrangement and the Shindo set-up.

More to come, I promise!

It really is worth it. I received back so much more than I paid out.
