I love the TV quality but not a happy camper...........

Thanks Ron!

It's sad that this TV may go in the garbage can soon. My old Sony XBR's still look good.

Thank you both! My question to you both is about how many hours a day do you watch TV?

For me it will most likely be about 4 - 5 hours a day being on.

OLED TVs have great picture quality, however, there are concerns about their long-term performance due to the possibility of permanent image retention, commonly referred to as burn-in.

Our previous 20 hours per day burn-in test is still running and the OLED TV already has permanent retention. That test is an extreme case, using patterns with a lot of static content.

Based on your feedback and comments, we have bought 6 LG OLED C7 which will play real, non-altered content. This should give you a better idea on what to expect depending on what you watch on your TV.

I believe this burn-in issue is dependant on the watched content and for how long. I personally don't want a TV I have to baby though.
Hi Ron....The Uniformity Photos for CNN is scary. I'll have to make sure I don't leave CNN on for to long.

This is what scares me about OLED and why I'm leaning towards QLED.

My LG OLED is exactly 3 years old now. Model LG OLED65C7P.

I typically use this set for watching movies and Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime, etc... The tv gets left on for hours on end sometimes but Roku has a screen saver, no problem there. News, I don't watch news on this set but perhaps a few times a week for 20-30 min.

Like new, no problems whatsoever.

I did Ron's test on my 8 year old Viewsonic computer monitor as well. I hardly ever turn off this Viewsonic. Sometimes it is on for days on end if the computer decides not to go sleep.

It is also still like new and I wanted to upgrade to a bigger and newer monitor a long time ago but this Viewsonic is just not giving up...

Conclusion.... News is toxic and destructive for the TV and the viewer.
