JP: I was able to compare the I7 and MA7000, had them home together. Both are great but very different. The Mac has a bigger sound stage, gobs more power on my old Thiel 2.4's and smoother mids/highs. The I7's bass detail and extention killed the Mac, also fleshed out more mid/high detail but portrayed a slightly leaner presentation.

A very tough choice between two excelent amps !!!
Hope you are well friend

David Ellington and I worked with Kosta and Bob at RMAF last year. Truth be told we were a bit concerned about using "budget" electronics with Elipsa. All I can say is WOW! what a surprise. No way in the world I would have believed we could have attained the sound we did. Wonderful gear!

Nope. Preamp with phono and digital section installed around $4k, mono amps around $6k, cd transport around $3k I think. Fairly plain but nicely finished. Not nearly so glamorous metalwork as the big gear. Stuff was wonderful.

Stephen...the I-7 integrated from Simaudio is actually a very hefty piece. Build quality and parts are top notch. It's the real deal. I agree with Tom's description of it's sound. I think the key is partnering it with the right speakers. If you have speakers that are already a bit on the warm/lush side, the I-7 will add control and let the detail and resolution come through.

One of the things I really like about the i-7 is the user interface. The display is huge (though I wish it could be turned off, at times), each input can be named, each can be individually offset to account for source volume differential, and each has a max volume setting. While I don't tend to let anyone touch the system, I will never have to worry about someone cranking it to clipping when I'm not looking. I must say, this thread is making me feel good about my gear...not that I had a complex, or anything...but Simaudio doesn't get a ton of thread time, here. :thumbsup"

Enjoying AA on my DROIDX
