MSB Transport Quality
I had posted this in a Manufacturer sub-forum but perhaps its better placed, here...
Curious if there any owners of (or experiences with ) an MSB transport? How did they perform? What was the mechanical noise and operation like? How would they compare to highly regarded Esoteric transports/drives quality? |

I haven't spent a lot of time with the transport but I've heard the REF and Select II dacs on a few different systems. IMO, they are well built, modular, and SOTA. Their current REF transport has the same insides as the Select, the only difference being the outer casing and price. I imagine you could pair it with anything but I bet the best sound would come with an MSB Dac by its side using their pro I2s connection. The transport uses an OPPO chasis and is a universal player (SACD, DVD-A, CD). I'm not sure how much in common it has with the OPPO. The REF and SELECT transports compete against the best from Esoteric and many other hi end transports. Good luck!
