Default Computer speakers

I recently went Mac with the 27 inch IMAC. What external computer speaker experiences do we have out there. Anything special on the market under $500.00?

I use a set of Klipsch Promedia 2.1 that I wouldn't trade for the world. KABOOOMM!!

I would look into Pro Audio powered speakers. Focal CMS-50 is in your price range, I think.
It will blow away any PC speakers.

Agree 100% on the Pro-Audio speaker comment. I am using the NHT M-00 and S-00 speaker/sub combo and they are terrific. The S-00 has since been upgraded to the S-20 which is a better sub.

Another vote for the Audioengine A5 that i reviewed, even over 'pro' speakers. The problem is that 'cheap' metal tweeters tend to sound a bit harsh to my ears. See my review:
