It has worked for several other audio brands, but it leaves us consumers in the lurch when it comes to the services dealers tend to offer (in home auditions, package deals, etc.). Maybe since PS Audio is a well known and long standing brand, they feel that they can attend all of the audio shows (for auditioning) and spend more money on internet advertising to get the same or more bang for their marketing buck? Seems odd for a company that has long been a part of and a supporter of the audio market. I guess we will all see what happens!!!

The other thing, aside from psaudio, is the negative impact this might have on dealers. Just one more thing that makes it harder To run (and make money at) a bricks and mortar audio establishment.

This will be interesting to watch. I feel sorry for the dealers that spent precious resources supporting the brand.

I have been involved with several businesses that determined their existing rep and dealer network was ineffective in supporting their goals. Dealer networks are devilishly difficult to manage.

In every case there were a lot of hard feelings, with a little brand bashing thrown in for good measure. Also in every case after a quarter or two of confusion, the outcome was better in terms of end customer intimacy and business return on invested capital.

It is difficult for outsiders (like us) to judge because we do not have all the information available. Typically direct sellers claim that they can price their products cheaper by eliminating the middle man. I have owned PS Audio products. They all worked fine for me and represented good value for the money. I still own a PS10 power device. Good luck to them; hope they are still around if I ever need service.

This just doesn’t sit well with me. I just cancelled a rather large BHK Order; I believe this will affect future resale value.

I also happen to know, some key employees left months ago. I’m just stating facts for fellow AA’rs. I truly wish them well.

Of course, you have to purchase the gear before they will ship anything.
