Ella Fitzgerald - Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie
Analogue Productions SACD

Ella Fitzgerald (vocals)
Herb Ellis (guitar)
Gus Johnson (drums)
Lou Levy (piano)
Wilfred Middlebrooks & Joe Mondragon (basses)

The cover doesn't give a really good idea about the quality of the recordings.
This is a very fine album.

Dave Holland tonight. Live at Birdland. Years ago when I was demo'g speakers, a dealer used this to showcase bottom end capability of the speakers he was promoting. Didn't buy the speakers, but wound up buying plenty of Holland's CDs -- quartet, quintet, sextet, big band -- they're all good IMO.

Terrific set indeed!

Lee Ritenour
On the Line
Recorded Live in the Studio in several formats. Another of the Elektra Musician Series where the musicians have much more control over the process. Amazing play, and exquisite recording. Highly Recommended!
Regards,
Jim

I *love* this album, and it's interesting that the title and cover art (which I also love) would suggest an up-tune album, but almost all of the selections are slow and/or gentle - the title tune, one of the couple of up-tunes, is in the middle of Side B!

I have three stereo and one mono LP of it, too. (I sort of have a problem. )

Count Basie - Live at the Sands
MoFi SACD

Brilliant Basie, very well recorded.
Thank you Julian (who brought this all the way from the US of A!).
