I am very pleased with my current DAC/streamer (a Lumin T2), which is based on dual Sabre 8028 DACs. That being said, affordable upgrades are always in the cards for me.
The Lumin T2 and the PS Audio DS W Bridge II are both on my radar. It seems like a lateral move vs an upgrade from what I have read? More about personal preference it seems? Am I missing something?

Well you have a 30 days money back guarantee so why not give it a try and report your thoughts ?

Reasonable option, but I am sure it will sound fantastic compared to the MB50 I now have (less than half the price) so kind of a stab in the dark as to what might be best for my taste. There is no place anywhere near me to listen to any of the popular units in this class of streamer dacs and I know there are several good choices. The Lumin T2 and the PSA are my current short list, subject to change. Innuos and Auralic have been bumped down to the second tier list for now. I wonder if the PSA can currently be had for $4k?

If buying them used is okay with you then there are two sellers on the PSA site. One of whom is selling a DirectStream DAC for $3,300

https://forum.psaudio.com/t/fs-direc...c-silver/14586

and the other a Bridge II for $460

https://forum.psaudio.com/t/bridge-ii-for-sale/14377

I have no affiliation with either other than I'm a contented owner of a DS DAC and Bridge I.

(If I'm violating any forum rules with my response then I apologize and please delete my response.)

I recently became the owner of a new to me PS Audio PerfectWave MKII with Bridge I. Can the Bridge I be upraded to Bridge II? I am only interested in streaming from my media server. I don't really know the difference between the I and the II because their is little information on the Bridge I.

Thanks in advance. Great forum!

The Bridge is accessible from the rear of the unit. A couple of screws loosened and it slides right out. Yes, you can install a Bridge II card to replace the original Bridge that you have.

I have a PS Audio DirectStream DAC with the original Bridge. I think it sounds excellent as is. The Bridge II allows you to unfold MQA recordings which the original cannot do.

I'm attaching the Owner's Reference guide for you in case you don't have it.

Thank you Joe. How would I know if I have a Bridge I or a Bridge II installed?

Select the gear icon on your touchscreen display. This will take you to the version screen. If the Bridge's version number is higher than 0.2.15 then you have a Bridge II.
