We are REALLY fortunate here to have a dealer that is as into the hobby as we are.

It's hard to say until they break in fully, but my sense right now is that they are reminiscent of the Electra BE 1038 in terms of frequency range, but they have the fluidity and agility of the Scala. In the end, I believe the Scala would edge them out, and will likely play "bigger" and with more scale in larger spaces. However, if you add a decent pair of subs to these, they quickly become Scala killers. To quote another of our members that has Scala V1 and REL G1s- "...these things sound waaay to close to my rig for comfort..."
I hope that helps. |

Quote:
1. That the Sopras are significantly less imposing and less awesome looking compared to the Scalas. 2. That the Sopras are significantly smaller than the Scalas which means they fit more spaces or living places than the Scalas. |

I'm not sure I agree with the "awesome looking", unless you are referring to the Scalas size and presence in the room. The Sopra is finished every bit as well, and the new glass base is a really nice addition. It's all subjective...for me, it's a horse a piece, visually, really. Overall, I think they really deliver where advertised - smack dab in the middle of the Electra BE and Utopia lines. Last edited by rjryan; 06-07-2015 at 12:30 PM. Reason: spelling error |
