Fantastic piano playing!
Sound is dodgy, but Junior Mance shines.

Recorded Feb. 22-23, '61.

Junior Mance - piano
Larry Gales - bass
Ben Riley - drums
Liking this one too

There's a remastered version that sounds a bit better (marked Jul 21, 2013 in the Qobuz catalog).

Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio.

Excellent recording, nice upbeat tempo, higher octane evening jazz listen.

Default What jazz music are you listening to?

Harold Land - Westward Bound! (Live)
Real to Reel (2021)

Among others:
Hampton Hawes, Piano
Carmell Jones, Trumpet
Philly Joe Jones, Drums
Buddy Montgomery, Piano
Monk Montgomery, Bass

This is a fine series of recordings of live performances at the now long-gone Penthouse in Seattle. The recordings were made by the great Seattle jazz radio host and producer Jim Wilke in the early 60s, and recently collected and produced in this album by Vancouver-based sax player and producer Cory Weeds. Not audiophile sound, but great music. The 11-1/2 minute “Autumn Leaves” is a real highlight.

Serge, nice morning listen too

I hope we'll get to see the Three Blind Mice catalog on Qobuz/Tidal...

Edit - I found this quote from Tsuyoshi Yamamoto on his personal website:

"Recently, I have more opportunities to interact with audiophiles, and I learned that they are listening to our album from corner to corner, and I am making new discoveries. I would like to make more and more good albums for audiophiles." (Google Translate).

Ray Brown - Soular Energy

Don't we all agree that this great album deserves better than the 4.0 given by AllMusic?
