This new release is worthy of posting here:

Omar Sosa
Marialy Pacheco
- Manos - Piano Duets • Live
Qobuz 24/48

It can get a bit hectic at times, but they show terrific interplay, and brilliant ideas.

I went to see Omar Sosa with Paolo Fresu in concert yesterday evening, great duo!

Wayne Shorter - Footprints Live!

Recorded live at various locations in Spain, France and Italy in 2001

Listened on CD (Verve). Seems I enjoyed this album more than the Allmusic reviewer

Wayne Shorter - Tenor Sax
Danilo Perez - Piano
John Patitucci - Bass
Brian Blade - Drums

Will definitely try this, I don't know Sosa but really like Pacheco.

The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings is extremely useful. Seek out their reference recordings to start.
Thanks for the recommendation, I just put an order for the Penguin Guide

Charlie Parker

After some searching I finally settled on this recording, one of the least worse SQ.

Verve re-issue, via Qobuz.

Concentrating purely on Bird's musical genius.

Please let me know if you have some decently recorded Parker in your streaming platform favourites, on CD or on Vinyl... thanks!

Joel, Charlie Parker's most interesting years were in the 40s.
So, don't expect perfect sound.
But he was so good that I manage to listen through the limited sonics.

A Harmonia Mundi box I own offers decent remasterings, and gives you a good idea about his evolution:
