Default Daughter's new Vacuum Embarrassed My Oreck XL21

I've had an Oreck XL21 for a few years now. I had another Oreck model prior to this one. I have always liked how light it is and the Oreck store always convinced me that this vacuum was one of the best for my carpet. I have it serviced every year since the XL21 gets a free service every year for 21 years, parts not included. My home is very clean. Most the people I know including my wife think I clean to much. Yesterday I bought my daughter a new inexpensive Eureka vacuum from Target for her college dorm. She said everyone else in the dorms that have them cost far less than that. I asked if I could try it once in our home before she takes it to school. Look what came out of my carpets. It's gross. I had vacuumed the day prior with my Oreck XL21. image-3511982093.jpgDownstairs image-3420117407.jpg Upstairs image-196836444.jpg image-263167859.jpg

I'm not saying I'm gonna run out and get another one(but maybe I should for that price) for my home, but I definitely want to do away with my Oreck. image-1147919689.jpg image-279296830.jpg image-3645162399.jpg On sale at Target.

^^^^ hahahahahahaaaa... ^^^^

My Dyson does an incredible job. I recently embarrassed a Kirby salesperson. Had her vacuum the living room floor as a demo. Then I got out the Dyson and went over the floor again. It kinda looked like what Mike got after he went over his floor again.

The Kirby salesperson? Well, she stopped talking, packed her kit and left.

You're lucky. Most Kirby salesman won't leave until you throw them out! It's company policy- wear the customer down so they will buy just to get rid of the salesman! Their 1930's design is over priced by about 10 times.

You are not joking. Once I had to grab the Kirby vacuum and haul it to my door to get the sales team to leave. Yes, a team. Guess they were training a new victim. They must have to train quite a few.

I have a Dyson and I hate it. I think they are highly overrated. I would never buy another one or recommend it to a friend. I can see lint on the carpet and if I have stepped on it the Dyson won't pick it up unless I change the attack angle. I also want to scream when I see the ads promoting how far the hose stretches. Once the hose gets stretched about four feet the vacuum starts to follow it or tip over. To get the promised 18' stretch it would take two linebackers wearing their cleats-one holding the vacuum and one pulling the hose. Accessories are also grossly overpriced.

Yamaki, you must not vacuum very often for the Dyson to pull up that much dirt after the Kirby if the Dyson is the vacuum you use all the time.

Wow, your the first I've ever heard say this. Most love them. I looked at the one at Costco and thought it felt a little cheap for $500.00+. It must be at least 10 times better than my Oreck though.

If you look at Consumer Reports ratings, you'll see that they don't think much of Dyson either. They rated the DC41 Animal, 28th in their latest ratings.

I just bought a Hoover Windtunnel Pro to replace my old Hoover Windtunnel that finally showed enough wear and tear that it needed to go after 25 years.
