Dean, that is a handsome seat and it looks like it is scaled appropriately for te room.

How does it feel?

It's very comfortable. Just right for us. We will go to Crate and Barrel in a few days for some new pillows for it.

I realize I could have gone a foot longer with it, but that was out of budget and I like having more room around it.

Wow - some nice chairs and sofas shown! (I think Ivan's are my favourites for sure!)

My preference? I prefer a low-back chair. I'm not tall and I do not care for having the chair extend up behind by head - it completely changes the sound of the room, almost never for the better, especially if the room has had some effort put into proper layout and sound treatments.

A friend uses simple medical office waiting room chairs in his listening room. They foster "alert" posture and have minimal impact on the sound. They aren't "relaxingly" comfortable, but they don't need to be; he goes in to listen, not to nap!

It might be useful to email your speaker manufacturer to find out what the ideal ear height relative to the tweeter is and how sensitive/important any deviation is.
Secondly if you are are using a coffee table between the listener and the speakers you might try removing the table and listening for improvements.

Not without making a compromise with The Lady, she has insisted that we change our main listening chair to a pair of the following OSIM U-Infinity (below) after a demonstration & citing that it would be therapeutic for me & practical given the amount of hours we both spend in front of our system.

I am a little hesitant, hoping that it will enhance our entertainment experience & not compromise listening pleasure, eg. noise pollution, reflection. The footprint is surprisingly small with a width of 71cm.

The OSIM U-Infinity works as a conventional recliner too with a flip of the footrest. With 19 programmes & many more downloadable from the app stores as they become available, I am swayed to give a pair of these massage recliners a go.

The unit can be controlled completely with your iPhone/iPad or Android device.

The OSIM U-Infinity also has inbuilt loudspeakers in the headrest (for use with your iPod or external source) & I'm thinking of hooking these up for surround height or width.

This new model has yet to be officially released. It is already in high demand in this part of the world & has received accolades. Our shipment from Singapore should arrive within 8-12 weeks.

I'm thinking that for critical listening, I may prefer to use it as a conventional recliner. For movies, a low frequency feedback mechanism would be an awesome programme upgrade! It would be great to daisy chain from the LFE channel or F113s for a few extra jabs & vibrational feedback! The company is always looking for customer improvement suggestions. I might inquire if this is a possibility.

Does anyone else use a massage recliner as a listening chair?

Interesting chair, but I wouldn't want one as my listening chair.

I hear that.....when I was picking out a sofa for my listening room, I was careful not to pick something too comfortable so I wouldn't fall asleep during those late night dimmed listening times. One or two songs on an Enya record and its
