Default When’s the D4 coming?

Anyone here have any leads?

I heard from the grapevine it could be this year... but I don’t have any evidence otherwise.

I think the D3 was released mid-2016. COVID may delay the release, but yes I would.

805-802D3 came out in 2015.
800D3 in 2016.

Since that time:

Eva Automation purchased B&W Group
B&W Group sold Classé to Sound United
B&W restructured and split from Eva Automation
Sumiko takes over US distribution of Rotel from B&W
Eva files for Bankruptcy protection
Sound United acquires B&W
Eva Automation closes and avoids Bankruptcy

Phew..

oh yea.. Covid..

What do you think B&W could improve on with the D4 line? 800 D3 sounds amazing in a good room!

It depends on whether engineering or marketing is writing the release notes.

...I think the D3 tweeter is a bit bright, this can be improved. Active 800 Series would also be interesting, Amplification optimised for the Drivers within the base of the speaker much like their DBxD Subwoofers that use HYPEX modules

Active crossovers like the Nautilus yes.
Active powered like the Formation never.

I would love to see a monolithic type speaker, something massive like the old Matrix 800. Maybe even a bit taller.
