Best music DVD
Although not everyone's taste...
The Blu Ray concert DVD, Nine Inch Nails, hits the Warehouse Rock button! Lots of Drums/Bass for your subs and surround sound. Visually moving also, the extra's (alternate concert, on disc) maybe even more so, then the main concert. King |

For DVD:
The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over - DTS (Image Ent.) The Moody Blues Hall of Fame - Live From the Royal Albert Hall - DTS - (Image Ent.) I know they put one Moody Blues onto BD, but I dont think this one has ported over yet...If it does and they do a DTS-MA track on it, I'm sold on BD for Nights in White Satin.

My recommendation:
Hitman - David Foster And Friends! This is the one to beat in Bluray DVD. Just out. Music, dynamics, performers and pictures really tops! I have both, first the CD/DVD, then the Bluray! Clearly one of the best! This is one concert I have played for more than 10 times and my wife simply loves it. Friends who came over to audition all ended up having one!

Toto 25th Anniversary From Amsterdam - Was blown away by this at Ivan's house. Told myself over and over I had to order it. Finally did last weekend, my copy should arrive tomorrow!
Boz Scaggs Greatest Hits Live- All the familiar songs, great small band and performances. Excellent sound. Peter Gabriel Growing Up Live- Hyper visual almost to the point of distraction but the audio is superb. BTW, my system is 2 channel so I can't speak to any surround effects or mix quality.

AC/DC, live at Donington.
Has good surround sound. The guitars jump out, and the concert rocks. Video, not so good. But a Great Blu Ray purchase! |

Bloodbath - The Wacken Carnage. Death Metal may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it sure is mine, and the performance is top notch. it was Mixed and Mastered at Fascination Street Studios which actually does some okay work for metal.
Alison Krauss & Union Station Live - Amazing as usual. Dido - Live ... Mastered at Metropolis on PMC's, it is really a nice concert DVD for the ladies. Sarah Maclachlan - Mirrorball... She is absolutely one of the most beautiful singers ever, she's cool and down to earth, her band is flawless and the sound is perfect. |
