This new cable was shown overseas at a trade show.

Additionally, there is a rumor that they have a new improved series to replace MM2 after the new year. This is a rumor, nothing confirmed.

At the rumored pricing it is not something I would ever consider no matter the improvement.

My radar is scanning for used MM2 Opus... It is always be my dream SC. Spec ? Hmm,. May be 10 ft pair calibrated for SS amp. Spade-spade. More difficult is to sell old Reference MM (MM2) at acceptable price. I heard the Magnum will cost $65,000. Toga
Pls Forgive me but Magnum really looked like this to me.

TA’s Hong Kong distributor showcased it’s new top-of-the-line cables at the recent Hong Kong High-End Audio Visual Show (8 to 10-Aug-2014).
  • Opus Series
    • Old
      1. Opus MM2
    • New
      1. Magnum Opus
      2. Opus
  • Reference Series
    • Old
      1. Reference MM2
      2. Reference XL
      3. Reference
    • New (Gen 5)
      1. XL
      2. Reference
      3. Ultra

Note 1: New TA Opus has the same aesthetics but with changes under its hood
Note 2: New TA Reference Series sports all-new aesthetics but differ in size (smallest=Ultra / largest=XL)

According to the Hong Kong distributor, they are taking orders for the above new products and expect delivery 2-3 months from now. If I recall correctly, (i) Magnum Opus (10 feet) = USD 64,100, (ii) Opus (10 feet) = USD 35,900, and (iii) XL (10 feet) = USD 13,900 - these prices were before any customer discounts. Please note that the above prices may not be entirely accurate.

Good day Folks.

I am in the process of replacing my incumbent cables with Reference MM2 however, due to an other impending Kit purchase I will be looking, initially, at replacing either the current balanced IC's between ARC Pre>power, Or the speaker cables > Martin Logan CLX's

I would be most interested to hear the opinion of TA owners as to which of the two options you would go with, until such time as I have harvested enough BackPackers Kidneys to fund the purchase of the second cable?

Jasper.

From my experience I would say that you will perceive the greatest improvement from upgrading your speaker cables. Every time I've done it, the improvement was substantial and most enjoyable.
