You are right, it has the shortest length prices.

But that pdf is nice. Remember, it has msrp numbers...if you choose different lengths, go b-stock, want different terminations, etc...it changes the price slightly. Usually not "drastically". I guess if you order 60ft Opus speaker cables

If you need an exact price, I suggest you contact your dealer.

BWLover,

Welcome to AA!

I have 802D's (v1). I started with the Super line, and then went to my currrent Ultra MM2's. I would suggest trying to get at the Ultra level.

I also echo what has been suggested about amplification. One big amp like a MC452 is better than bi-amping with lesser amps. I've done what you plan to do at least twice (and maybe a third time). In the end, I always came back to a very good stereo amp. Performance this way is excellent, and it saves money in the long run.

Hope this helps.

I have always been under the impression that with most B&W speakers, the more power you throw at them, the better they perform. They are power hungry. So this is why I was thinking if bi-amping. Now, I've never a/b tested this myself. But as you can see below, I own one Rotel RB-1090. I was thinking of getting another 1090. This amp pumps out 380 watts into 8 ohms, and 700 watts into 4 ohms. So what you and others here are recommending, is one amp with ultra speaker cables vs two amps with super speaker cables?

Bowers & Wilkins 683 Speakers
Rotel RB-1090 2 Channel Amp
Rotel RC-1082 Stereo Pre Amp
Rotel RCD-1072 CD Player
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon w/ Ortofon 2M Red (sitting on a piece of slate supported by 3 "solid tech feet of silence" isolation feet)
Rotel RLC-1040 Power Conditioner
Shynyata Research SR-Z1 Power Outlet & Venom 3 Power Cords x 4
Tara Labs RSC Vector 1 Speaker Cables & Interconnects
Pioneer PDP-5070HD 50" Plasma
Playstation 3
Shaw HD PVR
Primacoustic Room Treatments

True. The additional current delivery that more powerful amps provide is definitely used by B&W's, especialy the 802D's and up. My 802D's started on an MC205 (200 watts). Then they got an MC252. Only 50 more watts, but significantly improved current delivery. Big jump in performance. Then i went to my current MC402. More watts, current, etc. It continued to open up the 802D's in all aspects. And the 402 has a very quiet background.

The RB-1090 is a very nice amp. The woofers will need, and get, the most power. Getting a 2nd one is not going to substantially improve power delivery. An RB-1090 only on the tweeter/midrange seems excessive. Plus extra spend on cables, and the bang for the buck declines quickly.

As I mentioned, I have A/B'd this before (with RB-1080's in fact). And I end up with a really good stereo amp. You already have a good stereo amp.

Save money on a second amp and cables. Enjoy the new speakers. They will be a big jump from the 683's. Later on, explore jumping to another level of amplification.

Yes. A very nice place to start the 802D's.

Hope this helps.
