Default 20 years anniversary and Momento II!

Marten has been around for 20 years now. The three brothers celebrated this with a release of a new recorded album and with a huge speaker and Mingus Quintett in a anniversary edition.

A lots of live music from that album...
(The left one)

At one point during the performance Lief pressed the PLAY button and Momento II were suddenly a part in the orchestra. Worked well. HiFi as PA-speaker!

... along with demonstration of Momento made this happening fulfilled.

Leif demonstrates how small Momento II is compared to Supreme II...

A very big Vitus Audio Masterpiece Series MP-S201 Stereo Power Amplifier and Engström Erik with tubes were demonstrated.

MSB DAC with the preamp module.

Good stuff.

Riu Borges turntable

SAT tunearm

And Lyrec very nice R2R.

I think everyone enjoyed.

In another room there was a Jazz trio along with the anniversary Quintet speaker.

Autumn Leaves was magic

The very old one...

The new one.

When you celebrate an anniversary it can be a good time to look back. The Brothers have always loved music and there recent ancestor were violin builders.
Building things and music are probably in the genes.

Jörgen and Leif and mr. Violin

Both Momento II!

Big room, big speakers.

This one is funny. The piano player (Matti) was filmed from all over and got the light in the eyes but still performing at his best. Concentration...
I hope it will be a great music video.

If you have the opportunity you will probably be pleased.
As always, matching everything is important. The recent technology, filter technique, and the aligned membranes into a very precise acoustic line makes the resolution at the very top of all speakers, I would say. Though, this reveals what the signal really is and that can be frightening for some electronics. You have to match it with good stuff. Otherwise you will hear the shortcomings brutally true.
Therefore Marten is very meticulous about the source and clean power.
Marten always demos with different electronics to show that it's possible, but off course there are brands and modells that works spot on. This Moment II speaker is new and I'v just heard it with Vitus and Engström. Both brands are fabulous. Transistors vs. tubes. The music presentation shows the difference. It's a matter of personal taste.
Mingus Quintet 20 anniversary is a pimped "normal" Quintet. A big speaker in a small package. It's physically small but can play like a much bigger speaker. All this with the new technology's great reproduction results.

Their idea to get to know all parts of reproduced music from their own recordings, through their own cables (Jorma) and speakers to your ears I think makes them get to know a profound knowledge about how this works that is hard to know about otherwise. Mixing and listen to the results in their own speakers must be very useful to know what to develop next and how it should sound.

At least the result for us music nerds is very satisfying. And it is only the result of musical involvement that counts. It is what all technology finally comes down to. Specs is interesting but not without music that can makes you cry.
Actually, during a music piece, Symphonic Dances (Rachmaninov) on Lyrec R2R,
some listeners had this experience. Me to. Thats why I want to tell you about how good they are. Not every set up can make this kind of emotions.

I must say that I'm, as a Swede, quite proud of this brand.

Some of Martens recordings are recorded on this sexy thing. The most supercool compact durable R2R there is... probably
