Very nicely done. How did you determine the vertical distance the panel needed to hang off the ceiling. Aesthetically I think I would prefer the panels closer to the ceiling but curious if there is an acoustical reason for hanging what looks to be 6” below the ceiling.

Great job Joey. When I put them on the ceiling in my listening room it was a huge difference.

And yes folks, he may play a surgeon in real life but, in his music room he is just a regular Joe. :-)

Speaking of ceiling clouds, YouTube reviewer Tharbamar made a really nice set of ceiling clouds using an Ikea Nipsa Seagrass basket, and used 3M removable Command strips for the mounting rails; no holes in the drywall ceiling required.

Now, before you guys start chuckling about using an seagrass basket, the United States Navy and the University of Texas have done an acoustical study demonstrating that seagrass has very good sound-absorbing and acoustical damping properities. Link to this scientific study here: https://www.researchgate.net/publica...band_05-25_kHz

Tharbamar also used an inexpensive Ikea Vika curtain track and 3M command straps so that no damage would be done to his ceiling.

Entire cost? About $25.
