Default 200-250Hz spike

I have detected a spike in the 200-250HZ area. Is there any product that hits that region? thanks, Pete

How big a spike is it in dB?

Did you measure this or is this a gut feeling?

Hi
The spike is 20DB or so, measured with a Rives test cd and db meter...after a conversation with a friend, I started playing around with the test disc and started measuring some low end activity, when I got to 200-250, the spike was louder and annoying,,,,there was no other massive spike like that with the rest of the range...I plan on using the RoomEQWizard program when I have time, I would like to knock that down, but I don't know any acoustic products that can tame those frequencies...The room is tricky with an angled ceiling and low side walls, and is treated with GIK panels and some ASC corner traps and sound planks...

Quick thoughts. REW is a good start to confirm your first measurements. Can you play much with speaker position and or listening position? Confirm this exists for multiple sources if you can. After REW, call GIK...

I have just removed my Ref75se from the system for a transformer hum. I am getting a GS150 from my beloved dealer for the time being...maybe it will stay, maybe it will not!

I am planning on moving the speakers around and adjusting the seating area, when I get the system back up and running this weekend. I will report back. THX!

i believe that room EQ's, like the mac, target this issue in the 200 to 300 hz range... its a typical issue with modern living sized rooms...

if you use a crossover, you can position the point to target this range.. or buy some GIK panels.. problem solved.
