That looks great! I've had some Yamaha gear over the years and was always impressed by the sound. It seems all they sell now are AVRs. Sign of the times I guess.

That is not the case. They recently came back in the Hi Fi domain and make an excellent line of amplifiers. Since late 2018, they introduced their separate amplifier/preamp combo. You can see in the pictures attached I snapped at the Montreal Audio Show last week. The speakers are the NS-5000 and it comes from the lineage of the legendary NS-1000M.

Think the problem may be finding them below the border. Canada's importer often brings in Yamaha audio products that are next to impossible to find down here. Once upon a time the USA importer provided all manuals for Yamaha audio as downloads. Even carried the Be-domed tweeters & mid-range drivers for the NS-1000/1000M. All that went away around 2000, or so. Essentially no support for vintage gear and none of Yamaha's highest end products. Talk to the importer.

I find it quite odd that we have all the Yamaha Hi-Fi products in Canada while the US market being 10+ folds of the canadian market, does not have access to their products .

My first serious audio component was the Yamaha. CR-800 Receiver. I bought it in 1974 along with a pair of very good Yamaha 3 way speakers. Throw in a Dual Turntable and I loved it. Wish I still had it.

Thought you folks might enjoy this. https://usa.yamaha.com/products/cont...ier/index.html
I've owned a CA-420, 620, 800, 810, 1010, 2020 & A-2000 and most of the matching tuners, plus too many Yamaha preamps, amps & CDPs to list. Still own a T-85 and am negotiating for a T-2. All wonderful pieces of gear.
