I had a lot of fun making my rack from black iron pipe and butcher block. I also made a cabinet for my vinyl albums and CDs.

While not nearly as "wood involved" as some of the fine work shown above, I did put this together. Used vibration absorbing rubber under granite pieces for the shelves. My goal this summer is to stain/paint the wood and metal rods once I decide on colors.

Function first, no need to apologize. There is always compromises in any design.

I will say a typical wood project of mine involve 40% building and 60% finishes.
