Definitely your loss. Two wonderful speaker lines.

I'm shocked that Borresen Acoustics does not have it's own Forum here !
No doubt the Borresen room sounded great albeit too loud most of the time. Great doesn’t need loud.
I found the MBL room to be Heaven. No, it did not have pinpoint staging. Rather it presented the entire orchestra/band/trio as a whole, much the same way I hear them in person. I would like to hear both Borresen again after they (Auvik) develop their class A amplifiers with the dude formerly from Gryphon. That might be really special. The Class D amps from Auvik, are powerful and dynamic beasts. I think I might get tired of the extreme punch and dynamics and long for the musicality of Class A.

There is one in Chicago. As I recall, they were the ones exhibiting at RMAF. I think a family company is also the US distributor and Next Level is in the name of both companies.

So up until a couple years ago, I’ve not heard about the Borresen brand. Now, they’re all over audio media prints to website reviews.
Has anyone heard Borresen recently? How would you describe their sound signature vs other high end offerings from Magico, Wilson, YG, etc? Against Raidho?

In around 2003-05 time period, Michael Børresen told Lars Kristensen (Lars was the worldwide sales manager at Nordost from 1992 to 2012) about his ideas of an innovative ribbon tweeter design, which Lars found highly interesting. Shortly after, Michael had manufactured a prototype and invited Lars for an auditioning. As a result, they jointly established Raidho, their own loudspeaker company. Michael & Lars left Raidho in 2017 (heard it was nasty) to concentrate on ANSUZ cables & AAVIK (launched 2015) & in 2018 Michael launched Børresen Acoustics concentrating on new speaker design. In 2019, Audio Group Denmark moved into their new HQ located in Aalborg for production, R&D, test labs & admin. End of 2020 Audio Group Denmark established umbrella company comprising ANSUZ, AAVIK & Borresen Acoustics and in May 2021, Flemming Rasmussen, founder & former owner of Gryphon became the newest member of Audio Group Denmark’s design and development team. In saying all that, Raidho Acoustics, now under Lars Venning (CEO) a part of the DANTAX A/S group (Scansonic, Raidho and Harmony) and Børresen Acoustics are quite different from each other today. Bob

As an interesting side-note, I recently read that 70%+ of Denmark's economy is based on exports, with audio based gear & components being a significant portion of that.

Bob, thanks for the Borresen background. Interesting turn of events which led to the formation of AGD. Seems the founders have created colossal brands in such a short period of time, IMO.
Can't wait to hear your impressions on the X2s.
