I have been following Shunyata since maybe the last 12 years and one thing that is fairly consistant is the the newer offering outperforms the previous one. Especially with the greek monikers, a "downgraded" v2 would normally betters the previous v1 of one echelon up. In your case, I would not be surprised that the Delta v2 would be better than an Alpha v1 as the new v2 introduced some new technologies and design elements that make it better accross the board.

That's correct. For example, the Delta v2 PC is better-sounding than the previous generation Alpha v1 NR PC and has superior noise reduction. And..for half the price.

This question has me curious in a way that may be helpful to the OP. I have a Holo Audio Spring dac. I connect it to my streamer (Bryston Bdp-3) 2 ways, a WW Gold AES-EBU and, relevant to this question, i2s, using WW Platinum USB ->>> Singxer USB Digital to Digital converter ->>> i2s out to the Spring. Has anyone tried using i2s with Shunyata USB and (does Shunyata make HDMI? And if not, what would you use for the hdmi/i2s tail?) hdmi (whoever makes yours)?

I’m thinking of upgrading my Spring to the May and so I share in the OP’s inquiry with more elaboration on the i2s part. Thanks
