I spent some time with an LS3 tube preamp and an ARC 100.2 stereo amp in my system. Great combo. Tremendous bang for the sonic buck.

It all grew into the 40th anniversary REF system eventually but that was not SS.

Ok i can understand your point of view. But how compare a luxmann of 120w with Pass having 15w or 30w ? The only is the 150, and I agree this is not the best one. With my ref5se i used a xa100.5 and Now a xa160.5, and that’s something else..

Gerry! I just saw this. I'm very happy to hear that! You did the right thing. Sounds like the best pairing possible.

I just didn't want to change my newly upgraded Ref6SE, etc... I had to decide which direction to go.

Congrats Gerry.

I’m sure those are good amps. What I like about the Luxman is that it has a very natural tone, which I just never find in solid state amps. Instruments and voices sound real, not like electronic creations. The Ayre VX5 was close, but I think this may be even better. But hey, I had that 3 years ago...
My ref75se is my favorite but this does have other cards to play.
