Not a perfect solution but I have seen people place their tv on top of fire places higher than that. I would position the tv directly above the Aida II or perhaps slightly forward. Recliners would be a must...lol.

If I was in your shoes, I would have two separate systems. One for stereo and the other for home theatre. I would place the Aida IIs at one end of the room for stereo. I would place the home theatre speakers at the other end of the room for home theatre. The surrounds would have to be carefully positioned to not interfere with the Aida IIs. When switching between stereo and home theatre listening, I would simply swing my chair around.

outlander, First of all, absolute congrats! From all I have understood Aida II's are fantastic speakers. The high end is very customized to personal taste. I don't think vocal or image height will be a problem. Some of my most favorite discs are either DVD's or LD's. The key is not to purchase too large a monitor. I am primarily a 2-channel aficionado but wouldn't dream of giving up my TV. I don't think it affects my sound at all. I have 3 seats and can tell you that all three seats give an excellent visual and sonic experience. I am sure this will eventually work out extremely well for you and that you will be very pleased. Please excuse the new remotes. I forgot they were in the pic.

Best

Charles

I've never tried my Aidas in my AV system but given their superb sound quality I'd be leery of pairing them with anything less than other SF speakers sharing the same or similar tweeter/midrange drivers.

Good luck with your experiments!

Thank you Steve - great advice! Will stick with 2ch for a couple of weeks and see how I go
