MDP, What were the differences between the Anthem M1 and the 600s? What was your reason for moving? Thanks

Mark,

I can't believe I missed your review when it was originally posted. Glad you are very happy with the Classe monos driving the Salons. Mike (Mbovaird) is very high on these amps as well.

I'm wondering if I should consider these for my Salons...

Mike,I don't know if they would be an improvement over your ARC amp.
But, my invitation to you still stands. I would love for you to come to my house and listen to my setup,we could share some thoughts on our Salon's !!

The Anthem's were very good amps,I enjoyed them very much. They have had mixed reviews. The review in Hi Fi News was excellent, they named it one of their "Outstanding products" for 2012. The other reviews were not as kind.

I think the truth is somewhere in between. The differences that I've noticed were that the Classe's had a much quieter background. The results being that the 600's have a greater overall clarity, which lets you hear more detail in the music without sounding the least bit harsh. The top end is almost sweet, but I would say it's really just neutral. The bass also seems more natural, very tight,no bass overhang.

Currently running Parasound JC-1's. Are the M600's worth the jump? How do they compare?

Just got my ca-m600's on Friday. Classe suggests 300hours of break in. I think they sound pretty amazing already! I was running Emotiva xpa-1's with 802 diamonds and a cp-800. Now I have the 600's with the upgraded cp-800 and my 802 diamonds. Anyone have any experience around the 300 hour break in period and what I might expect?
Thanks!
