Default Expectation of the condition of a brand new record ordered online?

So I have ordered a bunch of records online, I just sent back 5 records from a terrible retailer that stuffed 5 records unprotected in a USPS media mail. All showed up damaged. I just received 4 more from Elusive disc, all were perfect but one. The top left corner is slightly torn, really its nothing major but its there.
As I build my collection I am hyper vigilant in protecting them and taking care of them and Im just wondering is this acceptable? I will post a pic, I have a feeling I'm going to get flamed on this one.

Thanks

If it’s brand new, I expect perfection; nothing less.

That is what I'm thinking, but I thought maybe Im being to rigid.
I figure its pretty hard to ship these, in this case I think it is not Elusive Disc but the manufacture who is at fault, but still....

Thanks for the reply.

I would agree with everyone else; unless the seller describes it otherwise, you should expect perfect condition records.

I just ordered one of the new Blue Note Tone Poet LPs, and the label was off-center relative to the spindle hole. Its going back to Amazon for another.

So here is the issue, they are going to issue an RMA and I have to pay to ship it.
I really think this was in the same condition in there warehouse and it was over looked or intentionally sent out that way. It was not damaged in shipping, the packing was to good.
I really don't feel like I should have to pay, but I guess I have no choice. I will not order form them again.

Thanks for the reply.
The retailer be it Elusive Disc or anyone else should inspect each item and not ship anything that is not perfect.

One rule applies...

New Item Price must == New Item in perfect condition

Several retailers blamed the vendor for that kind of damage on a few items over the years. My response to them is always;

"IF IT WAS DAMAGED WHY DID YOU SHIP IT TO ME IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?!??!?"

If I get anything less pleasant than an apology I tell them the item is coming back and I want an immediate refund. I usually don't order ever again if a retailer gets unpleasant or nasty over this as it shows their true colors.

I totally agree. If they are not willing to pay for the shipment back, why not say that you want to cancel the ENTIRE order? That will get someone thinking: "I am going to lose the sale of 4 albums for not willing to pay for the shipment of one album."

Also, feel free to escalate the issue. Talk to a supervisor or to the supervisor's supervisor.
