I have been kicking around the idea of picking up the Kleos for some time now. Tom's review has resparked my interest. Sure would love to hear a top flight MC in my system. I have submitted a question to my dealer...

Jason...of the price point is an issue, you can still get a very nice MC in the Lyra Delos which ought to be a very nice step up from the Maestro. Just a thought.

But, I have never heard a MC. I think the Kleos is a perfect fit for my table/arm. I am hopeful that the Kleos will make me forget all the Maestro and leave my jaw on the floor

I'm on the fence on which one to pick? I currently have the Dorain, which I'll trade in. It's just coughing up the extra 1K for the Kleos...

I can certainly give a big thumbs up for my Delos - works very well with the C2300 phono stage @ 100 ohms.

As a maestro owner, and most of the Lyra line, I think you will be very happy with the kleos...

I'm sure all things being equal the Kleos would be a nice step up for me versus my Maestro. However, after discussion with dealer I was advised to sit tight. Apparently, the Kleos has a very narrow range regarding optimal tracking force. I think Lyra recommends an exact VTF. I have been told that my VPI table/arm is incapable of holding an exact VTF as the arm tracks across the record while Playing a side. They postulated I would lose at least some of the 'magic' I would be paying a premium for due to the albeit minor incompatabity. Jeff, I know you are not too fond of VPI tables, but in your experience do you think the apparent lack of rock steady VTF on my unipivot arm would be an issue??? Thanks

It really depends on how much the VTF actually varies. I cant see how a tenth or two will be the end of the world. Every cartridge has a single optimum tracking force.
