Cool!

That also means I'll get paid.

LOL.

If you had to pick between the Rega Planar 10 and your Michell Gyro/SME TT/TA, which would you keep?

The Rega.

Quicken skimmed your P10 review in the July/August Absolute Sound which came in the mail today. Will have to read it in more detail later but glad to see that you think as highly of the table as I do. Outstanding value. [emoji106][emoji106]

Yeah, it's really outstanding. If I were shopping for a TT, I'd get the P10.

Actually, I'd like to have one even if I weren't shopping for a TT.

I finally got a chance to read the review - well done Stephen. This may be the last push I need to decide on my next TT move. I’ve been waffling between the P10, Kuzma Stabi R, Gold Note Mediterraneo, and Linn LP12. The LP12 dropped off because I decided I don’t want to deal with fiddly suspension, but the Mediterraneo has been in the hunt partly because it’s so beautiful. But Rega simplicity may just win out.

Good points, Kenny. The GN is certainly beautiful. For me the Rega would still win out because 1) I think the ceramic platter is a superior material to POM; the RB-3000 arm has many more years of development behind it, and 3) I don’t think anyone is making the level of “zero tolerance” main bearings that Rega is (this bearing came out of an 18 month development effort with F1 engineering folks). Lastly, I know the Rega will be incredibly DURABLE, which for me is an important quality attribute. Lastly, I wish companies would stop using the term “dampening” when they mean “damping”. To dampen is to make something moist; “damping” is to attenuate vibration and resonances.

[emoji23] it’s all in the translation.
