I bought a MCD500 recently, worth it. CD is still the mass market high resolution format.

I need to feel the music and read the liner notes which you do not get with downloads yet...

We are all forgetting the fatal flaw of Mp3 players, the connection at the back to recharge it. Never, namore again. I detest the digital age. FM radio in rural France blew dab out the window.

CD's are great because they are both Physical Media and Digital Media. So you can either choose to have them on the shelf or the Hard Drive. I play CD's stored on my computer in my iTunes library and when I screw things up (rarely does a hard disk fail), I reload the CD. As far a playback. I jump and skip albums and tracks, or even make playlists in lest then half of second with CDs (Stored Digitally or in the Changer) Which is the distinct advantage over other physical formats, withholding the subjective sound. I would love the return to Album oriented music, where all the songs are part of the album and gel with one another--see AOR Genre for an example-- Plus Purchased albums are greater sales than purchased tracks (*stomp stomp- Music Industry are you listening.) |

If liner notes are missing HDtracks normally (always) have that clearly stated on the album page.

I must be incredibly lazy. The cd collection is stored in boxes at a remote location. All serious listening is from the Aurender s10, either of cd disks ripped to hard drive or of hidef downloads. I can choose music, switch performances and enjoy a whole evening of music without having to search the racks for a disk and without accumulating a stack of disks on the floor which need to be refilled on the racks.
Is it just me? |
