Marvellous Mark!

Are you getting any bass from those tiny little woofers?!

Thank you guys, very much appreciated.

Bart: just a little [emoji1787]

All kidding aside, the beauty of large, properly executed drivers is of course found at scale and their ability to pressurize the room (and the whole house) at typical and high listening levels like no other. You feel the bass, sub bass and mid bass, truly even at low to moderate volumes.

The real treasure is that they also do this and the full speaker resolves full range music at drastically lower volume levels with emotion, tonal color, etc all intact.

Thanks for sharing the additional pictures, really impressive setup, and probably one of the very cleanest cable management I’ve seen!

Mark, who could not be envious and in awe of your system. Your cable management rivals Ivan's. Thanks for the additional pics. I went to the Legacy website. Very cool that you see your system on the opening web page. I have said repeatedly it is the in depth knowledge of your gear that makes all the difference. I believe your knowledge of Esoteric is unrivaled; obviously, your knowledge of Legacy is. Your speaker has the widest range natural frequency response (12-30KHz) on the market. For a speaker to do 20Hz it needs a 12Hz lower limit. Also, the highest sensitivity (100.5 dB). I suspect it is capable of enormous output.

The CD Cowboy Junkies The Trinity Sessions is famous for the ending of its last cut which is an excellent test of the resolution of a high end system. My XVX passes the test in spades. However, the first cut begins with a solo vocal and a prolonged subsonic bass note for which the Thor puts out a max of 1.2 watts both channels summed. If a system can play that note and it is clearly "audible", it has low bass. I've never had a reviewer mention it, but it is there.

Best

Charles

p.s. the bass and sonic quality of the CD is stunning throughout. But your system must be capable of resolving very low sound level low bass that is present throughout to fully appreciate it. Thor never goes above 1.2 watts summed mono.
