Default I'd Rather Go Blind

A few weeks ago I caught the Kennedy Center Honors that included Led Zeppelin and Buddy Guy.

During that show, I was introduced to a performer that I never heard of, but should have. She came out and sang with Jeff Beck and her name is Beth Hart. Her vocals blew me away along with her passion. I spent the last 2 weeks watching every Youtube video and listening to samples of her work. She has been around for many years and gone through some rough times with drugs and more but somehow bounced back and matured into a fabulous singer.

I just bought her latest which is a collaboration with Joe Bonamassa and the whole disk is killer and includes the song "I'd rather go Blind" which she did ant the Kennedy Honors show.

Beth Hart is unbelievable. I have her CD's (Mark - MDP put me on to her). She sounds a bit like Janis Joplin - only better - but with that raspy soul in her voice. She makes you really feel the music.

I would also say that Joss Stone sounds a bit like Beth also and maybe when she fully matures may get there.

Beth's band is awesome also.

AKA_Hyfi.......Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa - Don't Explain is an excellent CD. Beth also does a sultry verion of Melody Gardot's "You're Heart Is As Black As Night" on this CD. Click on the Amazon link toward the bottom of this page to buy this CD.

"Don't Explain" is a great cd, Beth Hart is also coming out with a new solo cd very soon called "Bang Bang, Boom Boom".

Also,if you like Joe Bonamassa, his latest cd "Driving Towards The Daylight" is very, very good !!!!

Beth Hart is one of the few females who can pull off Whole Lotta Love and it not sound weak. Tough life, good voice!!

My favorite track from the CD Don't Explain is "I'll Take Care of You". Second favorite is her cover of the song written by Melody Gardot. Impressive inclusion in a cover of old standards.

Don't Explain is one of my favorite albums but I can't seem to get into Hart's solo albums. Too much screaming. With Joe Bonamassa she seemed to tone it down and lean towards a more soulful blues presentation. Se has two excellent tracks on Bonamassa's live CD:
